About Me

I am here to help you set, meet and sustain your fitness goals. Whether it be in a group setting, an individual personal training session, or assistance with yoga to balance out your busy life, there is something for you at Shine Fitness.

I have been strength training for nearly 40 years and am a certified Personal Trainer through The American Council on Exercise. I am also a registered Yoga Teacher at the 200 hour level (ERYT200).

As the owner of Shine Fitness, I use a gentle, compassionate approach to coaching clients to become their healthiest, strongest self. By infusing various yogic principles into their Personal, Partner and Small Group Training, my clients have been able to enhance their core strength, balance, flexibility and overall sense of well being.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking and gardening. Above all, I love spending time with my husband, family and grandchildren!

Friday Morning Slow Flow: health benefits of slow, mindful yoga are incredible. It can help balance the nervous system and optimize brain function. Regularly stepping onto your yoga mat is so important to a well-rounded fitness routine. Mindful movement and subtle stretching help you tune into your body and give it what it needs.

Self-care Sunday: Because we all hold issues in our tissues ... classes alternate between:
YIN style yoga with gentle, supported stretches using yoga blocks, straps, blankets, bolster, pillows and other items of comfort. This is a cooling class intended for rest and recovery. and Self Myofascial Release using foam rollers, massage balls, etc. In this weekly class, we relax and restore the body after all of the work we’ve put in during the week. You will leave this class feeling refreshed and ready to take on the week ahead.

Vicki does a wonderful job tailoring the class to fit exactly what I need and pushes me just a little bit further. She is extremely knowledgeable about the human body and goes above and beyond to share that knowledge to help us achieve our fitness goals. I love working out in the intimate setting of her home where she has more than enough equipment and exercise ideas to challenge me and keep the workouts fresh. She also checks in with us outside of class to encourage us to stay on track.

My goal for each personal training session is to leave you feeling empowered in your own body. We will work on toning and strengthening the muscles, with a strong emphasis on the core. After all, the core is what holds us up throughout our entire life! We will focus on stamina and endurance at a pace that works for you. You’ll be encouraged to try new things and to push yourself to your comfort level. And I will be there to encourage you at every session!
